Dr. Andrzej Jasionowski is a world renowned expert on Ship Stability. He has acted as an expert in the world’s largest maritime disasters, platforms, and in port collisions cases.
He is an expert in ship architecture. He holds a PhD in damaged vessel hydrodynamics from the University of Strathclyde, UK (2002).
Since 1995, he has specialized in the use of advanced numerical techniques in the field of stability, hydrodynamics, simulation of ship sinking, probabilistic assessment of time to sinking and capsizing, holistic quantification of risk, alignment of shafts, FEM and collisions, grounding, port events and assessment of design defects.
He advised on the total loss of several ships, including bulk carriers, m.v. DERBYSHIRE, ropax, m.v. ESTONIA, m.v. NAPOLEON BONAPARTE, m.v. SEWOL, m.v. HYUNDAI No. 105, m.v. ROCKNESS, and DEEP WATER HORIZON.
He has advised on disputes concerning new ship designs, fuel oil consumption, shaft alignment, ship structural integrity, propulsion, stability, capacity, port risks, sea trials, shipyard/dock inspections and wreck surveys.
He has advised government organizations (the United Kingdom and the European Commission) on regulatory changes and risk mitigation.
He developed advanced decision support systems for effective management in crisis and flood situations and supported the development of several significant new construction projects.
He is the author of articles published in many magazines, books and during numerous conferences in which he participated.
Andrzej was an expert in many matters in the field of maritime law (London, Singapore, Hong Kong).
